Robert Bunda, one of the founding partners of the firm, has over 30 years of experience in Product Liability and Toxic Tort Litigation, including the defense of multi-defendant joint trial groups and the trial of multiple cases in consolidated actions. He also has extensive experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in the areas of pharmaceutical and medical liability, and the trial of commercial disputes and bodily injury cases. He is also experienced in the various options available to clients who wish to pursue alternative dispute resolution procedures, including mediation and arbitration.

Finally, he has engaged in both individual and collective actions involving wage and hour violations by employers, including misclassification of non-exempt employees from overtime, improper classification of employees as independent contractors, and claims of improper non-payment for employment-related activities.

Mr. Bunda has tried numerous jury cases to verdict in both state and federal courts in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, New York and Pennsylvania, and has engaged in appeals arising out of those and other cases, up to and including the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Bunda is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and has served in various capacities on committees of the Toledo Bar Association, the Ohio Association of Civil Trial Attorneys, the Defense Research Institute, and the International Association of Defense Counsel.

Mr. Bunda was board certified as a civil trial specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, an organization accredited by the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Certification of Attorneys as Specialists. Additionally, he was a member of the Ohio Supreme Court Task Force on the Unauthorized Practice of Law and a member of the Civil Justice Reform Act Advisory Group for the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio. He served on the Advisory Group to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, has been designated an Ohio “Super Lawyer” since 2004, is a Life Fellow of the Ohio State Bar Foundation, and was a Life Member of the Sixth Circuit Judicial Conference. He is rated “AV” by the Martindale-Hubble attorney rating organization, the highest rating awarded, which means he has been found by his peers to demonstrate very high ethical standards, and his legal ability has been determined to be very high to pre-eminent.

In addition to being admitted to practice in Ohio State Courts, he is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, Northern District of California, Eastern District of Wisconsin and Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan.

Mr. Bunda graduated magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame and received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where he was a member of the Journal of Law Reform. After graduating, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Noel P. Fox, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Michigan.
